  ~CCCS…consumer credit counseling services. there is a chapter in every city.
  you can pull a credit bureau, and see what all is reporting if you dont know. there are three major bureaus, id suggest pulling it from experian.

  Get a copy of your credit report and it will list all of your outstanding debts.

  Most cities have an consumer credit bureau and they do an excellent job with helping people to get out of debt.

  If you can avoid it stay away from debt consolidation. Banks view debt consolidation almost as equal as a bankrupsy. Make a list of all the people that you owe money to, the interest rate and the amount you owe. Call the credit card companies and ask them to lower your interest rate. Then pay the minimum for every thing expect one debt and put as much money as you can towards that debt untill you pay it off. Then pick another debt and continue. You can do this yourself if you are dissiplined. The debt consolidation companies charge you a fee for what you can do yourself. Also, those companies make mistakes and sometimes they don’t even make timely payments on your debt.
